~ Brandy ~
Brandy is a bounty hunter/performer that will turn in whatever weak outlaws she can for work while singing as a cover. She'll do anything for cash and whiskey, lacking a moral code after the rough upbringing she endured and the years she spent locked away in jail herself. She's easily irritated and pissed off with a specific hatred for most men. Nowadays though, she mostly hangs around the area of Deuce Dump after they helped her recover from a particularly nasty gang fight that left her unconscious on their doorstep.

Brandy (birth name Sylvia Walters) was born in a rich family, one of very high status and power. However as we have learned on gunsmoke, most rich people get their riches and status by playing dirty. Brandy's father was known for his underhanded tactics when it came to business and thus, earned him some nasty titles but he didn't care since it also made him rich. The day Brandy was born was not a happy day for her father as he wanted a son, as many families of class and fortune do. Brandy's mother however was a kind and very sweet woman who loved her daughter very much. Brandy spent a majority of her childhood being taught how to be a proper woman. She was practically ignored by her father and was only regarded as a tool to earn the family more money in the future which is why she was being taught how to be a "proper woman". Her Mother would take any opportunity to get Brandy away from her studies and let her be a child, and would make her pancakes every year on her birthday, sing to her and show her how to dance. She also gifted her a kitten for one of those birthdays that Brandy promptly named Pancake.
Before she was even able to understand her place in her fathers plan for the family, he was already having her meet with other families who had young sons with wealthy status. Brandy hated this and would at first act out at these meetings so the families would not possibly want their sons to marry her. This however was short lived as Brandy realized her father would blame her mother for "not raising her to be a proper lady" and would abuse her for it. She quickly gave up her outbursts and complied with the meetings but had no luck in drawing the eyes of the families despite this, as she struggled with sitting still and would forget things she was supposed to do. Her mother hated seeing her daughter, who was still so young, being shown off like some trophy to be won. Brandy and her mother would sneak out for outings in the town until her father found out. (note: at this time brandy is still only about 10-11) When she was just 12, her father brought her to meet a boy whose family had agreed finally to arrange their son to marry her. Her mother and father all met in the house of that family to have a meal together and the night was a strange and scary night for Brandy. She didn't know the boy, and he seemed rude and acted much like how her father acted. Her mother, who much like Brandy was forced to marry her father, couldn't stand seeing her daughter live the same life she was living and stood up, Interrupted the dinner and grabbed Brandy, promptly leaving, saying "we have changed our mind and will not be following through with this arrangement."
Brandy found her mother dead a week later, and lifeless in the bathtub of one of the bathrooms in the house. Her one support, and the only person who treated her like more than some possession was dead. Her father who knew she was still young and impressionable used the fact he was her only family left to convince her that her mother was dead for "not being able to fulfill her role in the family" and convinced her that it was all some coincidence. Brandy listened to this and started to do as she was told, in fear that the same would happen to her. As she got older and neared the age of 15 there was talk of marriage again, and when she started to speak up about once again not being ready to marry anyone, she came home from some classes to find her cat, the last gift her mother had given her, dead. Her father warned her again of how she needed to listen and this interaction made her finally realize her father was the reason her mother was dead.
Brandy started to sneak out a lot at this point, finding every opportunity to get out of the house as her father was distracted with some new business stuff for a few months. In this time she met a group of kids who much like her were also from rich families. These kids would sneak out and just have fun, steal, and do all kinds of daring things. The person who introduced her to the group was a boy named Simon. Simon was cool, collected, and very interesting to Brandy. At this time she was 15 still and he was 16. Brandy was welcomed into the group who treated her like another family member in their little found family group. This group taught her how to shoot a gun, how to steal, and how to have fun and do what she wanted to do. Along with this group brandy finally left her life behind and didn't go back to her rich controlling father, convinced this was her family now. The group just focused on doing what they wanted and stealing from the rich as they pleased, and Brandy worked right alongside them, soon taking on a more cowgirl style fashion. By the time she was 16, Simon and her started to date after a little fling turned into some sort of love she couldn't say no to.
Over time the group changed however when they were approached by an offer from an outsider. THey would sneak into a home of some water hogging rich snob and take him out in exchange for a large amount of money. This didn't feel right to her however, given they had to kill this guy. She signed up to be a thief not a murderer, However after being manipulated by Simon into believing what they were all doing was for the greater good, she left the good girl attitude behind and started to get wrapped up in these antics, up until the day when they were asked to take out one man in particular. Her father.
She told Simon she didn't like it and made him promise they would all just go steal a bunch of stuff and just lie to their client and say they tried and failed to kill her father. Simon promised her that, and they went on to do their mission. During the mission however, Simon snuck off and Brandy followed him, to her fathers office where he was now trying to target her father. She yelled out and warned her father who then turned on them and pulled a knife from his side and lunged at them, slicing brandy across the eye. Simon then shot him in the arm, stopping the attack and then in the head killing him before turning to Brandy at first with a fake, nice approach. "Are you okay?" but soon changed his approach when Brandy got mad at him and yelled at him for killing her father, saying "I did it for you!" and called her weak and said she was always trying to get in the way with her so called "morals"
After this Brandy got mad and tried to throw a punch at simon who just pushed her away with ease given her aim was off from now having one eye that was blinded from her fathers previous attack. Simon then set the room on fire using the fireplace that was lit in that office and left the room shutting brandy in there, blocking the door. He spoke through the door and said "I never loved you... everything I did with you was all for the fling at first, and then I found out I could use you to get into a place like this? I couldn't pass that opportunity. I'll tell the others that you died in a very brave fight against your own father, and I tried my best to save you" blah blah blah. He then left her trapped, to die in the fire. Brandy had to fight her own way out of the home while it was falling apart, earning some nasty burn scars and PTSD related to a fear of fire but somehow made it out, seeing the group was already gone and she was now standing amongst the rubble of what used to be her home.
After this she was arrested and charged for the fire in her home and for the death of her father and spent 2 years locked up before she escaped due to a break out from some other large named criminals. She then traveled for a bit until finding a place to stay in some run down town that was known for having high crime rates, and decided she could make a few bucks off of bringing in weak criminals like these ones and used her learned skills with a gun to become a bounty hunter. She no longer had a moral for keeping people alive and she would do anything for a few bucks and some whiskey. Using her body, her looks, and some really good acting, she tricks criminals into putting their guard down and then takes action. She works at a saloon as a singer and dancer as a cover, and also to make some cash on the side and sells herself to her work.
